It depends on what country you are living in. In the Philippines, most people use Facebook as compared to Whatsapp. In China, they use WeChat. One thing for sure, they cannot access any other social media aside from this. In the USA, Whatsapp is popular with Americans.

Facebook is 1 million percent better, even though the Facebook company owns Whatsapp. It just works better and its been around long enough for most of the kinks and bugs to be worked out of it. Whatsapp is still relatively new and still working through it's bugs and kinks.

The Meta-owned company is known for its subscription and advertisement-free model. WhatsApp was purchased by Meta, formerly Facebook, for $19 billion in 2014. Before Meta's purchase, WhatsApp was subscription-based and generated approximately $700 million annually.

Facebook earns more than WhatsApp.

In 2022, Facebook generated $117.9 billion in revenue, while WhatsApp generated $8.7 billion in revenue. This means that Facebook earned over 13 times more revenue than WhatsApp in 2022.  There are a few reasons for this difference in revenue.

First, Facebook has a much larger user base than WhatsApp. As of 2023, Facebook has over 2.9 billion active users, while WhatsApp has over 2 billion active users. This means that Facebook has more potential customers to generate revenue from.

Second, Facebook has a more diversified revenue model than WhatsApp. Facebook generates revenue from advertising, app payments, and Oculus sales. WhatsApp, on the other hand, only generates revenue from app payments.

Finally, Facebook has been in business for longer than WhatsApp. Facebook was founded in 2004, while WhatsApp was founded in 2009. This means that Facebook has had more time to develop its revenue model and build its user base.

Overall, Facebook earns more than WhatsApp because it has a larger user base, a more diversified revenue model, and has been in business for longer.

Facebook and WhatsApp are both owned by Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly known as Facebook, Inc.), and they generate revenue through different methods. It's not accurate to compare which of the two earns more because they serve different purposes and have distinct monetization strategies:

1. **Facebook:**

   - Facebook primarily earns revenue through advertising. Businesses pay to run ads on the Facebook platform, targeting specific demographics and interests. Facebook's advertising business is substantial, and it has a vast user base, making it a significant source of income for Meta.

2. **WhatsApp:**

   - WhatsApp, on the other hand, has historically focused on providing secure and encrypted messaging services, and it has been less focused on advertising. WhatsApp has introduced some business-oriented features, such as WhatsApp Business, which allows businesses to communicate with customers and clients. Revenue from WhatsApp mainly comes from subscription fees, particularly in some regions, and business services.

To sum up, Facebook generates more revenue directly through advertising, while WhatsApp generates income from a mix of sources, including subscription fees and business services. Both platforms contribute to Meta's overall earnings, but it's challenging to make a direct comparison between the two because their business models and revenue streams are distinct.

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Facebook earns more than Whatsapp. Facebook generates revenue primarily through advertising on its platform, while WhatsApp's revenue comes from business services like Whatsapp business API. However, revenue figures may have changed since then.

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Facebook and WhatsApp are both owned by Meta Platforms, Inc. (formerly Facebook, Inc.). WhatsApp primarily generates revenue through its business services, such as WhatsApp Business API and WhatsApp Business App, while Facebook generates revenue through various sources, including advertising on its social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

In terms of revenue, Facebook historically generated more revenue than WhatsApp due to its larger user base and advertising business. However, it's important to note that both platforms contribute to Meta's overall revenue.

To get the most up-to-date information on their earnings and revenue breakdown, I recommend checking Meta Platforms, Inc.'s financial reports or the latest news as the financial performance of these companies can change over time.
