Chickenpox in a child is usually quite minor. They might have a slight fever but the most annoying part for them is the itching of the spots which can be treated with calamine lotion. As far as diet goes they can eat whatever they fancy but it is more important to make sure they get plenty of fluids.

In an adult it can be more serious. Some people even have to be hospitalised with it.  You may find you don't have much of an appetite in the early stages of the disease so it's important to drink plenty of fluids.  Chickenpox is a herpes virus and related to cold sores and shingles. The best foods are yoghurt, fish, poultry and plenty of fruit and veg.  Foods to avoid are nuts and seeds, grains, caffeine and chocolate.

If you have it I wish you a speedy recovery.

Hi!

I am sorry if you have chickpox right now, hope you feel better soon!

You can stick to light foods such as soups and creams. Drink lots of water and cool liquids. Avoid food that is toooo hot or hard to chew on.

Make sure you have enough food on your stomach at all times. Also drink teas and even some milk.

Hope you are ok!

Eating well and healthily will not pre ent anybody from contracting chicken pox ,but the food you eat will help provide relief. Foods like soda baking reduces the itching and honey helps soothe the skin.

Antiviral foods like ginger, garlic and tumeric help I'm boosting the immune system since chicken pox is virus.

Yoghurt supports the immune system, eating oily fish since it contains inflammatory omega 3s.Finally, organic cheese and milk.

The chicken fox can be extremely itchy for some especially for children. I remember when I was in my teens, I got chicken fox, and it is really itchy and I can't sleep. However, there are some foods that will trigger the itchiness of the chicken fox. First I will state what food to avoid that will trigger the itchiness: spicy food, fatty foods, and salty foods. Instead eat more fruits that rich with Vitamin C and drink juices and teas and water to avoid dehydration. It is important to fuel yourself when chicken fox hit you, make sure to boost your immune system. You can also include to drink cinnamon, chamomile, and basil herbal teas for boosting your immune system. If your lips has blister because of chicken fox, you can option out not to drink with citrus juice or eat fruits that will cause the pain.

Avoid salty foods like chips at all costs. Nobody like having red, itchy bumps all over their body. It affects children under the age of 12.

When you have chicken pox, it is important to eat a balanced, nutritious diet that provides plenty of fluids, vitamins, and minerals. Foods that are easy to digest, such as soups, smoothies, and soft cooked vegetables, are especially beneficial. Avoiding high fat and processed foods is also important. Avoiding dairy and acidic foods (like citrus fruits) can help reduce itching and inflammation. Additionally, adding foods that are high in vitamin A, such as sweet potatoes, carrots, and dark leafy greens, can help boost the immune system.
