To keep things short, I'm a secret Christian and live with my parents. I was once of a different religion which I won't disclose. But I have accepted Christ into my life. Every year, we have two religious festivals. Due to me living with my parents, I have to join in. On these occasions, it's a tradition to give gifts. Or, in my case, buy things I want. Even though I do not believe in my former religion, I bought a bike accessory that day because, well, it's the holiday and I get to buy stuff. Is this a sin? I'm joining in the festival of a false religion. And although I believe Jesus is my Savior, I feel like the object I bought is tainted with sin due to my buying it on this day. Am I paranoid, or should I "listen to my conscience"? What should I do?

I think you are fine. Why feel guilty if you are feeling God deep inside you? The only thing that you need to determine which religion is the best. Having a religion is a complicated one if we allow ourselves to be confused. I am not a religious person, but I know that God is always in my heart.

The act is what is important, and which is giving. Forget what people believe in, your action will end up affecting lives positively, because the person that will end up receiving that item will be happy and this has nothing to do with religion, and the blessing you give to others has a way of flowing back to you.
