I know that it is normal to feel nerve-racking. As for me, I usually take a deep breath and go with the flow. Is there a medical explanation of why some people keep on wringing their hands when being nervous?

Shaking or trembling of the hands or other parts of the body is a common physical symptom you may experience as part of social anxiety disorder (SAD). When your shaking is caused by anxiety, it is a result of your body's fight-or-flight response.

In a case like this, the person who is suffering from social anxiety disorder needs to consult a shrink. I am sure they can still be reformed to be not having this mental health condition.

Rubbing your hands together is something people tend do when they're nervous and not sure what else to do with them, much like putting them between your legs or in your pockets. Of course, this can also just signal that you're cold like crossing your arms does.

It is normal behavior if we are feeling so anxious and wring our hands. I do agree with your suggestion that we can hide it by crossing the forearms in front of our chest or putting both hands in our pockets. Personally, I used to hold a coin and grasp it firmly when feeling this episode in my life.

I've done the hands in pocket but it's more obvious that I'm nervous that time.

Body language is often based on the response it gets from the surrounding. When person is anxious and unsure about something or gets excited about something, we often rub hands. And some of the time we also wriggle the hands as well. Some people also have habit of coughing when making a point.

Humans make some of the body language changes as they grow up in life and solve their life issues.

I hope they can solve their personal issues. I agree that people adapted to certain habits when being anxious about something or someone. But then, they are the ones who can make themselves to break free from doing them.

I think that is caused by fear and unbelieving yourself . I think to avoid that situation from happening, a person must starts to believe in himself or herself and this will give him or her confidence to overcome any fear.

Indeed. A person needs to break free from being one. Besides the point, it will not be a great help if being like this.

Hand wringing is the expression of distress, nervousness, upset, distress, or anxiety. This body language gesture is where person squeezes one hand with the other repeatedly or alternately.

You described it well. Do you still have this nervousness? I still do but it is not overrated.

I do think the reason is that the person is so anxious over something or someone. It is a normal reaction to be in a situation, especially if it is their first time to do or deal with it.

I always do that because that gesture is like wishing for better. That hand gesture is also used to pray. It may shake and tremble because we are in pressure and yet hoping that we've done our best.

Wringing hands is a common physical response to anxiety or nervousness. It can be an unconscious way to release excess energy and tension in the body.

There are a few reasons why some people might keep on wringing their hands when being nervous.

1) Some people might be experiencing too much of a particular problem at hand-on-hand and were feeling anxious because of it.

2) Some might be feeling overwhelmed and couldn't seem to get through the difficult steps asked of them.

3) They might be simply feeling anxious and stressed out about the problem or something that they were dealing with.

4) Maybe they are feeling particularly nervous because they want to do something but can't seem to find the energy to do it.

5) They might be feeling like an huge burden and need to belong to something or be a part of something.

Wringing hands is a common physical expression of nervousness or anxiety. When people feel nervous or anxious, their body may produce an excess of energy that needs to be released, and this can manifest as a physical behavior like hand-wringing.

Hand-wringing is also often used as a self-soothing mechanism. When people feel stressed or anxious, they may instinctively engage in repetitive behaviors that help them feel more in control of the situation. Wringing their hands can be a way for them to focus their attention on a simple, repetitive movement that can help distract them from their anxious thoughts and calm their nerves.

In some cases, hand-wringing can become a habit or tic, which means that people may engage in this behavior even when they are not feeling particularly nervous or anxious. If hand-wringing becomes excessive or interferes with daily life, it may be a sign of an anxiety disorder or other underlying mental health condition that should be evaluated by a healthcare professional
