I sometimes have weird imagination when looking at certain things. All I know is that sugar and salt have a similar color and the size of particles. On the other hand, the taste and texture are different.

I agree. Having salt in the house can be used in so many things. We have a tradition that it can give luck to families. Lately, we are using iodized salt, which more refine.

Sugar is processed from a plant called sugar cane, while salt occurs naturally and it has a chemical name and formula. Salt can be used in chemical reaction, while sugar cannot. Salt is used in cooking but sugar is less often use in cooking.

I agree that salt can react to chemicals. NaCl or salt is usually used in dextroses. It means it can be used to increase the metabolites in the body. Unlike glucose or sugar, we cannot consume it in a large amount because it can cause diseases, such as diabetes mellitus.

They are also very different chemically. Salt is made up of sodium and chloride and is ionically bonded. Sugar, on the other hand, is composed of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen and has covalent bonds. A salt molecule is made up of one sodium atom and one chlorine atom.

It is nice to remember the old days of learning chemistry. The chemical elements are fun to learn during my school days.

Salt and sugar may look the same, but they obviously taste very different. They are also very different chemically. Salt is made up of sodium and chloride and is ionically bonded. Sugar, on the other hand, is composed of carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen and has covalent bonds.

They are far too similar should you mistake one for the other when sweetening your breakfast coffee or cornflakes! The problem is avoided by placing one in a container clearly marked SALT and the other in a bowl marked SUGAR!

Sugar and salt have been used as ingredients usually in foods either fresh, processed, or snacks as flavorings. They are both white granulated or made of different kinds like sugar it can be refined or made of brown sugar. Salt can be made of iodized, rock salt, or Himalayan salt. These two are also being used for body massage scrubbers. The difference is that sugar is made of sweet taste mostly being used for pastries, dessert foods, and candies while salt is also being used on junk foods and processed foods to make the food stay longer.

In order to create salt, ionic connections hold sodium and chloride together. On the other hand, sugar is composed of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, and covalent bonds.

The similarities are

Both are solvable in water, both are used in food.

The difference are

One provide sweet taste and other salty taste. Sugar has organic bond, salt has inorganic bond.

Salt is a more specific and active than sugar. Sugar is more moveable and thicker. Salt is alsoingo soluble in many different plants than sugar is.

There are many similarities and differences between salt and sugar. For example, sugar is a natural sweetener while salt is not. Salt is more soluble in many plants than sugar is, it can also be used as a food dye and sugar is not as sweet as salt.
