Cold creams are also great lip balms! This is because cold creams have a high concentration of mineral oils and waxes such as beeswax or ceresin. Using cold cream on your lips helps lock in moisture and provide that barrier of protection for combating cold winter winds.

Making cold cream at home is a relatively simple process. Here is a recipe that you can follow:

Ingredients:

1/2 cup beeswax pellets

1/2 cup almond oil

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/4 cup shea butter

1 teaspoon vitamin E oil

Instructions:

Combine beeswax, almond oil, coconut oil, and shea butter in a double boiler.

Heat the mixture over medium heat until all the ingredients have melted together.

Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

Add vitamin E oil to the mixture and stir well.

Pour the mixture into a jar or container and let it cool completely.

Once the mixture has cooled, you can use it as a cold cream.

Note: You can add a few drops of essential oils to the mixture for added fragrance, but this is optional.

To use the cold cream, scoop a small amount onto your fingertips and apply it to your face in a circular motion. It's best to apply it after washing your face and before going to bed.

Pour 75ml of clean water into 1 saucepan (the smaller if there is one). Add 1/4tsp (1.25ml) Borax powder to the water. Place this pan on a gentle heat and hand whisk until the borax is completely dissolved and the water gently steaming, then remove from heat and leave aside.

1. Melt the beeswax, almond oil, and coconut oil in a double boiler over medium heat.

2. Stir the mixture until the beeswax has melted completely.

3. Remove the mixture from heat and stir in the vitamin E oil.

4. Pour the mixture into a clean, airtight jar.

5. Allow the cream to cool completely. It will thicken as it cools.

6. Once the cream has cooled and thickened, apply a small amount to your face and massage it in gently.

7. Use a clean cloth or tissue to wipe off the excess cream.

8. Store the cream in a cool, dry place and use it within 3 months.

And voila, your homemade cold cream is ready to use!
