Do we really need to make promises?

Yes and no. Don't make promises you know you can't keep.

But, promising to love, to rotect, to pray for, to understand  with empathy, to be loyal friend, to come to work promptly... These are promises we want to say and must keep.

Promise to love is one of the most satisfying feelings ever and sweeter when it is granted.

The teachings given by elders are always correct and helpful for us. If you try and think why they said something ,you'll find an appropriate reason for that.

They always advised to think twice or thrice before promising to someone. The reason is simple and obvious, if you have promised someone and after some time when it's your responsibility to keep that promise, if you don't keep it then it ruins your image in the society, makes you lower confident and a person ends up as a topic to make fun of for society.

Therefore, it is said that a clear rejection on the face is far better than a fake promise.

There is a lot of reason in these statement " don't make promises when you can't keep" it can be a good reason or a bad reason sometimes a good reason , is that people break their promises in order to hide or avoid someone they love of getting hurt more.

Promise is a situation which involves two friends either of same sex or positive sex telling each other things openly and without cheating and they're transparent to each other and they do  what they mean to do

It simply means that a person needs to think if he or she can fulfill his or her promises. It should not be leading to a phrase: "Promises are meant to be broken." We cannot do this with kids. It will shatter them and they will lose the essence of trusting the adults with false hopes.

It means we should not make a vow to do something and in actual sense, we cannot do it. It's just like saying something without meaning.

You should fulfill that promise once you bid it to a person, don't be a liar who always commit something you cannot do. You are just making a person expect for nothing and it is painful. Most of all it can cause trust issues because the person you gave a promise with might be unable to trust anyone anymore. :(

When we don't keep a promise to someone, it communicates to that person that we don't value him or her. We have chosen to put something else ahead of our commitment. Even when we break small promises, others learn that they cannot count on us. Tiny fissures develop in our relationships marked by broken promises.

We are not only communicating all of this to others, we are telling ourselves that we don't value our own word. We think it is okay to let someone down, to say something we don't mean, or to fail to follow through on something we said we would do. Not keeping a promise is the same as disrespecting yourself. Ultimately it can harm our self-image and our life.

No It simply means that we shouldn’t say things we aren’t sure of doing. And we say things and promise to do those things, we should always make sure that they are done.

Making a promise you can't keep means never promise to do something that you very you will not do, or promise to do deliver something you know you can't provide.

This phrase can be used to mean that we will do something, but we can't always do it. It can also mean that we will do something, but we will not be able to do it.

Well from what I understand don't promise what you can not keep it really means that people should not say what they can not do or give that is what I understand

Promises gives you hope and sometimes we really believe someone's promises so much we get totally dependent on it and believe that it will cone true whatever we are promised . Sometimes we even become so careless about all these we regret later so remember that you promise can make someone's life miserable if breaks it so don't promise if you can't keep it.
