Unconditional love or firm love can make or break a relationship

Being a parent and as I get older, I realized that unconditional and firm love do compliment each other.

We love our children more than anything else in the world. But we protect them and not leave them to their own devices because we firmly love them and to keep them safe.

When they become adults, that same love that affirmed them will go well with their soul while they're out there in the wild world.

It depends on a person's persona. I cannot judge which one is right or wrong. All I know is that loving someone should not set any limitations. It is how a person can carry himself or herself to deal with this matter. We have our own ways to handle this.

Just very simple, tough love is a love that is very selfish, while firm love is very pleasurable, smooth, caring and nourishing love.

Love is an emotion towards somebody or something. We are supposed to have unconditional love just like you have already mentioned. But with so much evil in the world, people hate more than love and has brought about issues such as murder, suicide, greed and jealousy. We should try and emulate God's love for humanity and pray for His guidance.

In my view tough love is good because it is that kind of love which does not appear from the face of the person it appears from his activity towards another person like parents love for their children where as firm love always shows on persons face but it is not sure that this love will gonna in favor of another person or it goes in his against.

Tough love is defined as being strict discipline or imposing specific obligations or requirements on a person to mandate responsibility because you care for that individual. An example  of tough love is when a parent punishes a child for getting bad grades or for not keeping his promises.

Tough love can definitely have a place, but it is not always a good first move. The problem with tough love is that it feels really good to deliver, but if it is too harsh, it wont work. Even worse, the tone that accompanies tough love often becomes confrontational.

Unconditional love means accepting another person for who they are, their faults and weaknesses. Unconditional love is a conscious decision you make every day and in every new situation that comes along.

A person who loves you unconditionally would try to make you happy through small gestures like sending you flowers with a note or bringing home your favorite pastry. While they  do these small gestures of love, they do not expect anything in return, not even your acknowledgement.

Tough love is when you show power or a forceful act for them to be better or to do better while firm love is when you discipline them in order to make themselves better. Might sound the same but still both kind of love.

Tough love can be a good message of support and understanding, which can help break up relationships that become too strong. It can also happen when the other person is feeling harmful or abusive, and is not feeling loved.Firm love, on the other hand, is the strictest form of tough love, and is considered to be the best way to break up relationships. It is this last type of love, and should be used when the two people feel broken and wronged.

As the word implies, tough love could mean something that is difficult to reach, and sustain. While firm love could be that which is constant, and does not fade away easily.

Tough Love vs Firm Love:

Tough Love:

- Tough love involves taking a strict and sometimes stern approach to help someone overcome negative behaviors or face the consequences of their actions.

- It often includes setting strict boundaries, enforcing consequences, and withholding support or comfort to encourage personal growth and responsibility.

- Tough love can feel harsh and unsympathetic in the short term, but it's motivated by a desire to help the person in the long run, typically with a focus on breaking destructive patterns or addictions.

- Tough love might involve actions like letting a loved one face the consequences of their actions without intervening.

Firm Love:

- Firm love, on the other hand, maintains boundaries and sets expectations, but it does so with empathy, compassion, and understanding.

- It emphasizes open communication, offering guidance, and support without being overly permissive.

- Firm love aims to strike a balance between being supportive and nurturing while also encouraging responsibility and personal growth.

- Firm love can involve setting boundaries, but it typically combines those boundaries with emotional support and a willingness to work through challenges together.

Unconditional Love or Firm Love in Relationships:

- Unconditional love means accepting and loving someone as they are, regardless of their flaws or mistakes. It fosters a deep emotional connection and trust in a relationship.

- Firm love, which sets boundaries and expectations, can indeed make or break a relationship. When done with respect and empathy, firm love can lead to personal growth and a stronger bond. However, if it becomes overly rigid or controlling, it may strain the relationship.

- Finding the right balance between unconditional love, which provides emotional security, and firm love, which promotes growth and responsibility, is crucial for the success of a relationship. It's about being both supportive and honest with your partner.

In summary, the main difference lies in the approach and the level of strictness. While both tough love and firm love have their place, it's essential to consider the context and the individual needs of those involved in the relationship. The right balance between unconditional love and firm love can indeed make or break a relationship by promoting personal growth, mutual respect, and a strong emotional connection.
