I am nearing the retirement age, but I feel that I still have a lot to learn in life. Does life really begin at 40? Or should we rephrase the saying as "Life always begins after 40."?

It's belief that life begins at 40 is not a myth, for a new study has revealed that it's the time when most people usually achieve what they want, with 46 begin the magic age at which life is at it's peak.

I don't buy into that, sorry.

To me, life begins when I start living life having a clear understanding of meaning and purpose why God blesses me with life on earth everyday.

At forty, I was busy running my houseful of children -- pregnant, babies, middle and teens. And I felt fulfilled in living THAT life with full self-awareness, clarity and understanding why I was there at the right time in the right place.

I agree with you. Life begins before or after 40 :-P.  Seems complacency and procrastination work a lot better for others.

Life begins at the age when you decide what you really want in your life and make plans to make it a reality age is just a  number.

This is what people claiming. All I know is when a person reached 40, he or she is entering a new world of being matured. It is not because you are going to experience regression. It means a person can live to the next level of his or her life.

Life begins a bit later on because as a young person you are racing to achieve your goals. It could be going to school, work or getting married and starting a family. As a young person, you tend to move with the times so you are "not left behind” as the saying goes. People tend to relax after because they were struggling in their youth. They slow down to enjoy what life has to offer.

It's a common phrase that I have heard since my childhood but I guess its always put that way as the age limit as to when you need to work hard reaching 40 becomes easy since you have experienced life enough and can make wise decisions on the same. It's a time when many accomplish their goals.

I have to say no. Of course life begins when we are born. The struggles, problems and the endurance of life maybe starts at 40. We already have a life since birth, the real reason about this quote is that you'll have more crisis in your life as you get aged.

For me i think you can start life at any stage you want, age is not a barrier to what you can do, there are many kids, teens, youth out there in the world that are doing exploit.

Life actually begins when you realise your true purpose in life. A lot of times people do no know why they are here.  Knowing your purpose is the true definition of life .

The idea that "life begins at 40" is a common phrase that suggests that people's lives and opportunities really start to flourish once they reach the age of 40. However, the idea is a bit of a cliche and this phrase does not necessarily hold true for everyone.

One's experiences and opportunities in life can change at any age and it depends on the individual's circumstances, goals, and perspective. Some people may find that their life really begins to take off in their 40s, while others may not experience significant changes until later in life, or may have already have lived a fulfilling life before 40.

It's important to remember that life is a journey and it's not limited to specific age milestones. Each phase of life has its own set of challenges and opportunities, and it's important to make the most of each stage.

It's also important to remember that age is just a number and it's never too late to pursue new goals, try new things, or make changes in your life. Whether you're 40 or not, life is what you make of it and it's important to live in the present and make the most of every opportunity that comes your way.
