You cannot use any container on microwave. Cooking containers like metal pans are not suggested because microwaves cannot penetrate. Therefore food will not cook. Besides, plastic containers or melanin which is not microwave safe may also be avoided since it is said to emit unsafe chemicals when heated.

As recommended.

Glass and glass-ceramic bowls and dishes: use for heating or cooking.

Microwave browning dish: Use to brown the exterior of small items such as steaks, chops , or pancakes.

Wax paper: Use as a cover to prevent spattering.

Paper towels and napkin: Use for short term heating and  covering. They absorb excess moisture and present spattering.  Do not use recycled paper. It might contain metal and can catch fire.

Thermometers: Use only those labeled "microwave safe" and follow all directions. Check the food in several places.

The are however certain materials that have much limitation to be used in microwave,  such as Styrofoam plates and cups, plastic storage and food container, and metal utensils.

So metal utensils are not advisable to be used because they can damage the microwave.

You can make use of ceramics plates to be heated in the micro wave, and containers are also widely used by people to heat their food when it is cold.

There are plastic containers and breakable that are microwave safe. Even those microwavable containers with foods in them. Even plastic wraps are acceptable but not aluminum foils. Fork, spoons and the like are not allowed inside the microwave.

Microwave-safe materials include glass, ceramics, some plastics, and paper products. Metal, aluminum foil, and non-microwave-safe plastics should not be used in a microwave as they can cause damage or spark a fire.

Not all materials are suitable for use in a microwave oven. Here are some materials that can be safely used in a microwave:

Glass: Glass dishes and containers are generally safe to use in a microwave, as long as they are not cracked or chipped.

Ceramic: Most ceramic dishes and containers are safe to use in a microwave, but you should check with the manufacturer to be sure.

Paper: Plain white paper towels, paper plates, and napkins can be used in a microwave, but paper with designs or prints may contain metallic ink that can spark and cause a fire.

Plastic: Only microwave-safe plastic containers should be used in a microwave. Look for the microwave-safe symbol on the bottom of the container. Avoid using plastic containers that are cracked, warped, or discolored.

Silicone: Silicone baking mats and molds are safe to use in a microwave.

Wood: Wood utensils and cutting boards should not be used in a microwave, as they can dry out and crack, and may even catch fire.

Metal: Metal should never be used in a microwave, as it can cause sparks and potentially start a fire.

Always check the manufacturer's instructions before using any material in a microwave oven, and use caution when handling hot items

ovenproof glass and glass ceramic dishes are perfectly suitable for microwave cooking. However, fine bone china and ordinary glass should be used for short periods only, as they would crack with excessive heat. Paper cups, cartons, cling films and thermo plastics are suitable for microwave cooking.

-ceramic ware and heatproof glass ware are safe in the microwave oven. Oven cooking bags, baskets made of straw and wood (without metal), wax paper, parchment paper, and vented plastic bags are all safe to use in the microwave. Paper products that are specifically approved for microwave cooking are safe to use.
