I have never experienced flood in my area. However I always feel sad when watching on TV that some place in our country getting floods after a heavy rainfall. It often occurred in our capital city. As a citizen sometimes I also feel ashame, a capital city should be cleaner, had good sanitation as it's a reflection and represent our country generally. It's shame when there's an international conference, our guests from another countries would face a flood in our capital city.
I am certainly that type of person who loves rain. But the feeling of heavy rains actually scares me, I always think of those people who are living near our dams and rivers, their lives are at risk and even their livestock are affected, especially those who are in need, it is really hard to imagine how they are struggling with their everyday lives and being affected by the heavy rains and storms easily.
I love rainfall to be honest but anything more than excess cause destruction. This is same in case of floods created by heavy rainfall. It's creates problem that are really hectic.
I actually like rain and storm downpour, I like it because it calms me down and helps me sleep calmly. Also, I love the smell of rain outside when it stops raining and just chills outside then smell the nice smells of nature.
This can be attributed to the climate change experienced in many areas. Leading to phenomena such as floods. Flooding can be irritating since it causes stagnant water in areas with poor drainage, this become breeding spaces for mosquitoes which cause malaria.
I do feel bad sometimes when it floods in my area.
