Or just turn your phone's brightness down! Turn off background updates for apps you think don't need them - it also reduces power consumption. Turn off or put the phone in Airplane Mode when you don't need it, such as overnight - preferably with a reasonable battery level left. Don't force quit the apps.

1. To reduce battery wear on your iPhone or Android smartphone, you should try to charge your phone only when it needs to be charged, and never leave it plugged in for extended periods of time.

2. Avoid charging your phone overnight when possible, as the battery will be exposed to a longer charging period.

3. Use a wall charger that is certified by Apple or an authorized third-party.

4. When charging your phone, use the USB cable that came with your device.

5. Avoid using third-party chargers, as they may not be as reliable or safe.

6. Make sure that your phone is turned off while charging.

7. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet when you're done charging.
