What is difference between a sedan and suv ?

Kindly clarify the difference. The words seems alien sometimes

• Sedan- Four doors, four wheels, low ground clearance
bigger consumes less gas fuel.
• SUV- Four doors, four wheels, high ground clearance
smaller, consumes more gas fuel.
