  • Open Gmail on your laptop or computer
  • Enter your email and then click next
  • Click on the “forgot password” that is underneath
  • Click on “try another way”
Now you should be taken to a page where it will ask you to write the answer to the security question you chose when you set up the email a while back.

*keep in mind that you have only a few times to try out the answer before it will block you from trying again.

As soon as you entered the right answer the link should open a new page to reset your password.

There are a few things you can try to regain access to your Google account.

  1. Go to accounts.google.com.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Click Forgot password?
  4. If you don't know the password, click Try another way.
  5. If you have two-step verification turned on, click Text or Call to get a verification code.
  6. If that is not an option for you (e.g., the number doesn't exist anymore, like in your case), click I don't have my phone.
  7. Continue until you exhaust all options.
  8. If you cannot reset the password, try the help at support.google.com.

Here are a few other tips if you forgot Gmail password.

If you are currently having access to your email at home, then you will need to find a new email account and create a new password. Once you have created a new password, it is important to find and access your old email account. If you have a phone, you can call your carrier and ask for a SIM change for your new phone number.

You can try recovering your account using your recovery email or answering security questions. If those options fail, you can submit a form to Google for help.

If you're locked out of your Gmail account and no longer have access to the registered phone number, you still have a few options to try to regain access:

1. **Recovery email:** If you provided a recovery email address when setting up your Gmail account, you can try using it to reset your password and regain access. Check your recovery email inbox for any instructions from Google.

2. **Security questions:** Google may prompt you to answer security questions that you set up when creating your account. If you remember the answers to these questions, you can use them to verify your identity and regain access.

3. **Account recovery form:** Google provides an account recovery form that you can fill out to request assistance if you're unable to sign in to your account. You'll be asked to provide as much information as possible to verify your identity and ownership of the account.

4. **Contact Google support:** If none of the above methods work, you can try reaching out to Google support for assistance. Visit the Google Account Help Center and look for options to contact support. Be prepared to provide details about your account and attempts to regain access.

It's important to follow Google's guidelines and procedures for account recovery to ensure the security of your account. Additionally, consider setting up alternative recovery options, such as a secondary email address or a recovery phone number, to make it easier to regain access in the future if needed.
