It's funny how some teachers and some parents consider students dumb and useless just because they failed an exam. I think it's unfair since intelligence cannot be judge just on a piece of paper.

Yes, exams are not ultimate indicator of examinee's intelligence. Generally, exams are so concentrated around  concrete concepts and amount of knowledge fed in the student's brain which is tested in terms of amount of words wrote on paper and use of vocabulary with some other related criterion.

Exams could be a possible close indicator of one's intelligence if it is based on application based questions. This means that if the exams are intended to access examinee's sense of firm understanding of concepts by checking it in terms of application level questions, this could give a close assessment of intelligence level.

True. Well said.  keeping in mind the reason for the exam is crucial to testing but shouldn't be the ultimate judge of the person's intelligence

Passing exam is one way to scale one's knowledge or intelligence, but mental social and emotional intelligence should collaborate with it. You cannot bring high scores or grades anywhere.

Exams are not the most accurate at telling who is intelligent and who is not. Not everyone is the same. Some people are smarter in one subject than others. Some people have an eidetic memory which makes exams easy. And finally some people are just not so bright, so exams will make them appear worse in the eyes of people.

Exams are part of exercises that can be used to test someone's understanding and intelligence to some point but there are other activities that can be done to determine that too. It's not necessarily exams only.

It is the best standard practice to determine if a person is improving or not in terms of academics. If teachers will not do this, what would be the basis for a person's intelligence.

Yes, i also believe in what you say. An intelligence can't be measured based on a mark or assessment. It is the memory power to recall is been tested on exam.

Exams is not the best way to determine a person's intelligence rather it a way of testing if you remembered what you learnt but in our society if a person fails an exam he or she is considered not intelligent it shouldn't be so,we should try hard to encourage people and not blam them for mistakes.

Yes exams is one of the ways. In school especially in tertiary institutions students carry out other activities such as laboratory works which are tied to assessing their intelligence. Response to questions in classes and participation in group activities are other ways.

In my opinion, exams are not necessarily the best way to determine a person's intelligence, as intelligence is a complex and multifaceted concept that cannot be fully captured by a single test. Exams can measure certain cognitive abilities, but other factors such as creativity, emotional intelligence, and practical skills are also important indicators of intelligence.

There are a few reasons why exams might be a better way to determine a person's intelligence than any other type of test. First, exams allow people to take their test seriously, as well as gave people the opportunity to try and learn the material in question. Secondly, exams tend to be more accurate, as they are a real-time format. Lastly, exams are usually much cheaper than traditional tests, making them ideal for more affordable families.
