Yes, fish oil can lower cholesterol. Studies have found that it can reduce both total cholesterol and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol that is absorbed from the diet and by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver. Furthermore, fish oil has been found to help reduce inflammation and may help protect against heart disease and stroke.

Hello,
Yes, this is because fish oil contains the omega 3 fatty acids that help in reducing bad cholesterol, LDL. Helps to be the main animal source of omega 3. It acts in the prevention of diseases cardiovascular problems and improves blood fat levels, reducing triglycerides and increasing HDL. It also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action.

Cholesterol is critical for the good performance of various functions in our body, such as the production of sex hormones, cortisol and also vitamin D, essential in calcium absorption. Balanced eating, regular exercise and good lifestyle habits like avoiding drinks and cigarettes are the first step in maintaining a healthy heart. However, either by medical recommendation or by precaution, many people make use of supplementation to reduce bad cholesterol. This happens due to the rush of the day to day, the lack of time or just to ensure a healthier life

I am almost 70 and have exceptionally good health for someone of my age. I take an Omega 3 capsule every day and have done for years. I have no idea if this is the reason but I shall keep on taking them as they are known to have certain benefits including lowering cholesterol.

There is no evidence that fish oil is good for lowering high cholesterol levels. In fact, some studies show that fish oil can elevate low- density lipoprotein (LDL) or “bad” cholesterol.

Yes, fish oil has been shown to help lower cholesterol. Studies have shown that taking 3-4 grams of fish oil per day can reduce total cholesterol levels by 10-20%. Additionally, fish oil can reduce triglyceride levels and increase levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. However, it is important to note that fish oil should be taken in conjunction with other healthy lifestyle habits such as eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and limiting alcohol consumption.

Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to have a beneficial effect on cholesterol levels. It can help lower triglycerides, a type of fat in the blood, and raise the levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, which is considered "good" cholesterol. However, the effect of fish oil on cholesterol levels may vary depending on the individual and the dose used. It's always best to talk to a doctor before taking any new supplement.

There's strong evidence that omega-3 fatty acids can significantly reduce blood triglyceride levels. There also appears to be a slight improvement in high-density lipoprotein  cholesterol, although an increase in levels of low-density lipoprotein  cholesterol also was observed.

Yes, fish oil supplements can help lower cholesterol levels in some people. The omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil have been shown to reduce triglycerides, lower blood pressure, and decrease inflammation, all of which can contribute to lower cholesterol levels. However, the extent to which fish oil can lower cholesterol may vary depending on individual factors, such as diet and genetics.
