Death is one rite of passage where everyone will go through.

There is this person who worked about 50m from my house. Saturday I saw him busy with his work, yesterday I was told he's dead. He just developed some mild sickness, rushed to hospital and pronounced dead. Do you think death can be unfair sometimes? image

Death is inevitable.  Yes, it is detrimental at times when it is a sudden death.  But, we have to always put in our mind that no one knows when we will die.  Nobody knows how we will die.  We will never know the place of our death.  But, do we truly die?  We are immortals.  It is only the body that dies and never our soul.  Thus, we have to be always prepared for our death.  I am a Christian.  I am nothing without Jesus Christ in my life.  By accepting Him as our true Savior, forgiving our enemies, and loving our neighbor as we love ourselves make us prepare for our unexpected death.

Very true we need to have faith in God as He sent Christ to conquer death and He defeated it. Even though death is so hurting, when we believe in God and do His deeds, we shall live eternally.

What makes death painful is the permanent absence of a loved one.  We tend to miss the person so much, and it makes us suffer for how many days, months, or even years.  However, our heart is greater than our pains.  The love of God is immeasurable that if only we surrender everything to Him, we start to realize that there is love in our sufferings and amidst tough times.

Death is detrimental because humans were not created to die but to have eternal fellowship with God. Since we have a natural tendency to want to live forever this makes us feel sad when thinking about or encountering death of persons we know.

When Christ returns, the “dead in Christ” (I Thessalonians 4:16) will have victory over death and receive a new, spiritual body in the fashion of Christ’s resurrected body. A person who has died is in the continuing state of “gravedom” in which the body decays and there is no consciousness or awareness of the passage of time.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10

Jesus was in this state for three days and nights. “Beasts” that have died are also in this state. Death only gets a person to the grave. In order to be raised from the dead, a person needs to be saved, and we get saved in the resurrection. (Romans 10:9)

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:55,57

Death is harmful because God did not make mankind to die, but to live forever in connection with Him. We naturally desire to live forever, so when we consider or experience the death of someone we know, we become sad.

Death is often seen as detrimental because it represents the loss of life, potential, and relationships. It also raises questions about the unknown and our mortality.
