Intermittent fasting is more than a diet, is an eating pattern. It consists of periods of eating/fasting. The most common is the 16h fasting/day. I personally tried the 20 h fasting/day and managed to lose about 5 kilos in 3 weeks. Have you ever tried it? What's your experience with it?

Yes.  When I was much younger, during my days at university in the 70s.  I read in a magazine that your body's digestive system needed a rest and that was an effective method.  I don't do as much these days but I would definitely recommend it.

Intermittent fasting or fasting regularly is one of the most popular trends in the world of fitness to keep your weight and get better health. The trend of intermittent fasting is a new discovery and many people are running after it to get maximum results. However, since I am not obese, I never tried it.

I've never tried intermittent fasting, but know that it works tremendously to reduce body weight. I feel pretty hungry after some point, and cannot sustain the process. Eventually, things end up in overeating.

During intermittent fasting, our cells depend on stored fat for energy. This makes the body burn our accumulated fat. Thus the fat molecules shrink in size, which in turn aids in weight loss. Intermittent fasting not only supports the process of fat reduction, it helps to increase muscle as well. In a nutshell, intermittent fasting helps to take off the bad weight and keep on good weight.

I tried it before and one thing is for sure, it works when you really want to lose fats and if you are consistent. I tried it a lot times before. Every year, I have plans of not eating that starts from 7 in the evening. I will eat again on 7am. I only eat small portion every 4 hours and then lots of water. My last meal will be at  7 or before 7 in the evening. At first, it is really a bad idea since I need to adjust a lot and the feeling is really bad, but then it took me lots of courage to get it. At first month, I was not consistent. On the second month, I did it for 3 weeks and I stop because of irregular menstruation. It was not consistent, but the losing weight process works.

I tried intermittent fasting at a time when I  was desperate to shed some body weight. At that time, I wasn't conscious of the fact that it was intermittent fasting. I just knew that I had to cut down on eating habits.

I didn't make breakfast a regular thing anymore. I delayed my breakfast until I was actually hungry. Most times at noon. Second and last meal for the day was at 7pm. That pattern worked tremendously and in only a week, I started to see results.

I have never tried intermittent fasting but I would love to only if I wasn't suffering from a certain health condition. On the contrary, I think I can reduce the intake of the meals that I always take and also avoid junk as well.

I read some article that intermittent fasting isn't only reducing weight but also as a control measure for diabetes type 1.

Yes, I have tried intermittent fasting and actually its worth it. I was able to lose several kilos quickly. Some of you may be unaware of the benefits of intermittent fasting. For those people, let me provide a brief of this subject.

This method of losing weight is currently in trend. It not only help losing weight but also protects us from several diseases and extends our lifespan. In this kind of fasting, you restrict yourself to a time period of specific hours of eating and also specific hours of fasting. This is as simple as that!
For those, who are unable to skip meals, they can prefer to do workouts at the gym or at home. You can explore various sites and pick the Best Treadmill Under 500 for yourself!
Whichever way you choose for weight loss, make sure you are comfortable in that!

Yes, I fast sometimes during the year but I always fast for a whole month and I have been doing this for years. I have always suffered from digestive illnesses and I have struggled with my weight my whole life, and I find fasting to be very beneficial to me. I feel better when I'm fasting and once I start eating, I can eat without feeling any pain or having any issues during that whole month. And what's really weird is that I gain weight in that month! It always happens. But once I'm not fasting I lose weight every day. I have experienced the benefits of fasting and I'm very happy that I can do this once a year and it really helps me with my digestive illnesses.

I've never tried it, but I've just read an article about it which had me thinking about trying it out. I like its concept of "building a disciplined eating habit" ,as the article mentions, and its reputation that's significantly increasing. It's been also proven by scientists and researchers that fasting has multiple health benefits and can prevent a lot of diseases, that's one of the reasons behind its skyrocketing reputation. In addition to this, it's considered one of the fastest and most effective weight loss methods in 2018. There are some religions in which people fast too like Islam, Christianity, and others. I'd recommend intermittent fasting to anyone who's eager to lose weight in the healthiest way possible.

Here's the article that I've read.

I have been doing intermittent fasting since my last year in high school because I was always called the fat one and I needed people to stop the mockery and name calling so I asked my health education teacher and she told me the different ways of reducing weight which intermittent fasting was one of it.

I have gone through it for about 20 years now and it has been helpful, though sometimes I add 'OMAD' to it which is one meal a day. If one really need to lose weight, stay trimmed, maintain a particular weight level or generally look good then intermittent fasting will surely help.
It's not good to starve oneself outright intermittent fast will do a far better job than starving one's self to stay fit. I can testify that it really helps.

I haven't tried intermittent fasting yet but as for my friend who's actually trying it now, I can say that it is indeed effective. I asked her about her experience so far and how it is compared to other methods, and I think she gave me the most practical answer:

Intermittent fasting is much better and simpler than other forms of diet because it is much easier to count the number of hours when you won't be allowed to eat rather than counting the calories of every meal you take. Although one should also make it a point to eat normally during the eating periods, as if you are not fasting at all.

As with other forms of diet, I think the challenge is to get used to it, and to stay focused on what you want to achieved.

No. I haven't tried it out yet. The one thing that never bothers me much is my weight. I like it. It doesn't flactuate and most times am at constant.

I tried and it was terrible, don't know how people are able to ignore their urge to eat for such a long time. I tried and on the very first day after 6-7 hours without food, my food was literally drained out, I was having a feeling that anytime I would fall on the floor, and at last, I just gave up.

Yes, I have tried intermittent fasting. I started with a 16 hour fasting/8 hour eating window and gradually increased my fasting window to 18 hours/6 hours eating window. I found that I felt much more energized and had more focus throughout the day. I also lost some weight, which was a nice bonus. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it to others.
