Follow these steps to replace a broken laptop screen.

1. First disconnect the power supply, remove the battery, carefully examine the bezel around the screen. You have to remove this bezel to access the screws that hold LCD panel in place. There are several rubber cushions, hide screws, which hold the bezel in place. Remove these cushions and screws.

2. Remove the broken LCD Panel.

3. Install the new LCD Panel and make sure it matches the old one and secure it using appropriate screws.

4. Now you can test the new LCD panel and reinstall the bezel and any external screws, rubber cushions. The repair is now complete.

Professional repair costs are usually around $300 or so [1]. If you are comfortable working on your laptop yourself, you can usually find replacement screens online for reasonable prices - sometimes as low as $50 to $100 - and it often only takes an hour or two to complete the replacement job.

A screen can be damaged if the laptop had an impact to the lid while it was closed or by the simple mistake of opening/closing the lid from one corner. ... One simple test most people can do at home is to connect their laptop to an external monitor or display like a T.V. using a VGA or HDMI cable or even wirelessly.

The best way to replace a broken screen would be to give it to the service centre of the brand of your laptop and they will know which component / screen they need for it and they will do it for you . Of course , it's gonna cost a lot .
