Sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder in which breathing is repeatedly started and stopped. Some causes of the sleep apnea includes, overweight, smoking especially the condition is worse if the smoker is suffering from high blood pressure and among other causes.Some of the causes of curing sleep apnea includes:

1.)If you're a smoker, quit smoking or reduce the intake because smoking increases the inflammation in the throat making it hard for one to breath.

2.)Reducing weight especially by working on your diet. This is because there's some extra weight in the throat which may at times tend to sagg and block the airways causing sleep apnea.

3.)Regular exercises like yoga usually do help because they strengthen the muscles especially in the air ways and improves on breathing.

Finally, maintain your sleep schedule, in terms of hours you sleep and the quality.

Basically, sleep apnea is a disorder whereby one experiences interruption in breathing during sleeping. Sleep apnea is likened to snoring, but it more severe than snoring as it can lead to other chronic conditions such as sleepiness, slow reflexes, poor concentration as well as increased risk of accidents. Sleep apnea can be cured through the use of self-help techniques and medical procedures.
The medical procedure requires you to see a sleep specialist to proffer the most effective method to cure your sleep apnea according to the type your are suffering from.

Another alternative for curing of sleep apnea is self help, which is mostly used for mild to moderate sleep apnea. The following techniques can prove helpful as one tries it by oneself:

1) Lose weight; just the mere lose of few pound of weight can reduce the symptoms of sleep apnea, as extra tissue in the throat can block the airway, thus preventing air from reaching the lung.

2) exercise regularly; apart from lose of weight, exercise can help your sleep quality.

3) Avoid smoking; smoke increases inflamation and fluid retention which blocks the airway.

4) avoid caffeine and heavy meals before bed time.

5) avoid sedatives, sleeping pills and alcohol.

Sleep apnea is a condition that causes a person to stop breathing for short periods while sleeping. Treating this condition requires lifestyle change such as eating healthy, exercising regularly, and avoiding alcohol and smoking.
Doctors often recommend people with sleep apnea to maintain a healthy weight, as obesity can increase the risk of airway obstruction and narrow nasal passages. This relates with exercising regularly because engaging in an active lifestyle helps one achieve an ideal weight. Moreover, exercise, especially yoga improves a person's respiratory strength and oxygen flow. Alcohol and smoking, on the other hand, could cause inflammation and swelling in your airways; hence, it would be best to avoid them.

Apart from these, you may also try changing your sleeping position. Some studies have shown that sleeping on your back can worsen the symptoms. If this case holds true for you, then you may want to try sleeping on your side.
