Hens are not able to fly because their wings are too small and theur flight muscles are too large and heavy, making it hard for them to take off.

Birds which fly generally has hollow wings and they weigh much lesser.

Their lungs are more efficient, wings are designed in a way suitable for flying.

Hens can't fly becuse the body mass of a hen is too much for the size of its wings. They can hover in the air for a bit thoe.

Hens have large bodies and small wings, they are too heavy to get very high off the ground, Though they can fly to a short distance. They can fly into the trees for three reasons either they are bored, threatened by predators, or something in their genetics is telling them it's a good idea. Hens are mature females and are mainly raised for egg-laying.

How high and far can chickens fly? Now, the real reason why chickens cannot fly is because of their bone structure and weight. The chickens that we know today are shorter, have heavy bones and more weight for their body, making it difficult for them to fly. Though they can hop and fly to a short distance.

There bones are strong and their wings  Can't support their whole body. Other birds have flight muscles which help in flying unlike hens which don't have them.

Hens can't fly because of their bone marrow that contribute to their heavy weight. The hens also need  streamlined bodies in order for them to fly freely.

They cannot fly because their wings are too small. They cannot also carry their heavy and huge flight muscles. This is what an expert claimed about this concern.

I think the reasons why they can't fly is because they are too heavy for the feathers to carry unlike normal bird which is not so heavy.

Hens can't fly because of their bulky bones and big weight. For flying a bird must be lightweight so it can overcome gravity.

Hens have a heavier body and smaller wings in proportion to their body size, which makes it difficult for them to generate enough lift for sustained flight. They are adapted for short bursts of flight to escape predators or reach roosting sites, but are primarily ground-dwelling birds.

Their small wings allow them to fly for only a moment or two. Modern chickens are bred as food or to produce eggs, so they do not have very large wings compared to their body. This means they can't produce enough lift to overcome their weight
