Two bible verses that can be studied to fight against depression are:

1) Deuteronomy 31:8 which says, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."

2) Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Not only do we have the promise that god will hear us when we cry to Him for help, we read that God comes alongside those who are downcast and depressed and save them.

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.
