I had an issue with water intake and had gastrointestinal disease because I drank too much but last few times when I have enough water, I've felt these:

I always hated drinking water.

This past year, I began drinking more water.

What were the benefits for me?

I saved money.  I only drink diet soft drinks occasionally.  

My mood and energy improved.  I rarely get tired easily anymore and quenches my thirst.
