Let's go back in time to the earliest civilizations. Indus Valley, China, Mesopotamia, and Egypt are some of them. Hence the oldest languages would have to be those spoken within these regions.

Determining the "oldest" language in the world is challenging because languages evolve and change over time, and the concept of a single "oldest" language is complex. However, when people refer to ancient languages that have been documented and studied, Sumerian is often mentioned.

Sumerian is the language of ancient Sumer, one of the earliest known civilizations that emerged in what is now Iraq around 4500 BCE. The Sumerians developed a system of writing known as cuneiform, making Sumerian one of the earliest languages with written records. It is important to note that other ancient languages like Akkadian, Egyptian, and Tamil also have ancient roots, and the classification of the "oldest" language depends on various criteria.
