Influenza, also known as the flu, is a highly contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. The flu primarily affects the respiratory system, including the nose, throat, and lungs.

Symptoms of influenza typically include:

Fever or feeling feverish/chills

Cough

Sore throat

Runny or stuffy nose

Muscle or body aches

Headaches

Fatigue (tiredness)

Sometimes vomiting and diarrhea (more common in children than adults)

The severity of flu symptoms can vary from mild to severe, and in some cases, can lead to complications such as pneumonia or bronchitis, especially in high-risk groups such as young children, elderly people, pregnant women, and those with underlying medical conditions.

To prevent the spread of influenza, it is recommended to practice good hygiene, such as washing hands frequently, covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, avoiding close contact with sick people, and staying home if you are sick. Vaccination is also an effective way to prevent the flu and reduce its severity if contracted

The flu is a respiratory illness that is caused by the coronavirus, a family of viruses that include the common cold and the SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) viruses. The flu is most commonly spread through contact with respiratory secretions, such as saliva, mucus, or blood, from an infected person. The flu is also spread through contact with objects or surfaces that have been contaminated with respiratory secretions. The organs affected by the flu include the brain, body, and brain and spine.
