My mom got me a test prep book to study for a large exam I had coming up. However, when I was studying for the exam, things weren't going well, so I threw a tantrum and damaged the book. In your opinion, does this make me just another spoiled little brat, or is it understandable? Thank you.

It's too early to make any conclusions especially since you only had one episode. It's absolutely normal for a person to through a tantrum once in a while when the subject to so much pressure or stress. Psychologists understand this that's why they look for patterns in behaviors and not one or two occasional episodes.

Throwing a tantrum and damaging a book is not a mature or appropriate response to frustration with studying. It is important to take responsibility for your actions and apologize to your mom for damaging the book.
