without a doubt the major problem  is poor installation. this include but not limited to poor or inadequate evacuation procedures, failure to level the FCU and apply a reasonable fall on drains, failure to run pipework correctly for good oil return, and so on.

Refrigerant leakages in split ac,

Compressor switching off too frequently,

Ice accumulation on cooling coil,

Foul smell upon switching on the ac

Several problems can occur in a split AC including:

1. Dirty or clogged air filter

2. Malfunctioning thermostat or sensor

3. Refrigerant leak or low refrigerant levels

4. Faulty compressor or condenser

5. Electrical issues or wiring problem

6. Airflow obstruction or ductwork issues

7. Frozen evaporator coils

8. Drainage problems such as clogged condensate drains

There can be various types of problems that occur in a split AC, some of the common ones include:

Dirty or Clogged Air Filter: The air filter in the indoor unit can become dirty and clogged with dust and other particles, which can reduce the efficiency of the AC and result in poor cooling performance.

Refrigerant Leak: The refrigerant is a critical component of the AC system that helps to cool the air. A refrigerant leak can occur due to various reasons, such as corrosion or physical damage to the AC unit. This can result in poor cooling performance and higher energy bills.

Faulty Compressor: The compressor is the heart of the AC system, and if it malfunctions, the AC unit will not cool the air. A faulty compressor can be caused by various factors such as electrical issues, mechanical failure, or low refrigerant levels.

Electrical Issues: Split ACs have complex electrical systems that can malfunction due to various reasons, such as faulty wiring, tripped breakers, or damaged circuit boards. Electrical issues can cause the AC unit to stop working or produce less cooling than required.

Thermostat Issues: The thermostat controls the temperature of the AC unit and can malfunction due to various reasons such as sensor problems or faulty wiring. This can result in incorrect temperature readings and poor cooling performance.

Clogged Drainage System: The indoor unit of a split AC has a drainage system that can become clogged with dirt and debris, causing water to leak from the unit and potentially damaging the surrounding area.

Noisy AC Unit: A split AC can produce excessive noise due to various reasons such as loose or damaged parts, faulty motor, or an unbalanced fan. This can be irritating and affect the overall performance of the AC unit.

It is recommended to have regular maintenance and servicing of your split AC to prevent and detect any potential issues

The evaporator coil freezes when your air conditioner does not receive sufficient air needed for operation . A frozen evaporator coil can make your AC freeze up and stop working.

A split AC is typically used when there is a power loss of two-thirds of the AC power. This means that the AC power is divided into two parts and it is difficult to draw the AC power from one part without drawing the other part.

Split ACs can experience various problems, including refrigerant leaks, compressor failure, condenser coil issues, clogged or dirty filters, thermostat malfunctions, fan motor problems, electrical connection failures, and drainage problems. Other common issues can include improper cooling, unusual noises, inadequate airflow, and sensor or control board failures. Regular maintenance and timely servicing can help prevent and address these problems.
