After a new belly button piercing, health professionals advise you to wait at least 3 weeks before swimming. If you have had your piercing a while, you can wear a waterproof sealed bandage around your belly button to prevent infection. Nexcare Clean Seals is a good bandage brand. After swimming, it is good to clean the belly button area with a few drops of antibacterial soap on a cottonball, and water. Also, you may clean and rinse the belly button ring as well.

If it is a new pierced one, I think it is best not to swim. We can never tell if the pool or any sea bodies are clean enough. You know what I mean.

Be careful with your belly once you have piercing on it. It may harm the tissues been pierced and the bacteria in the pool or sea may harm it, it may cause infection to it if it's wounded.

Yes, you can swim with a belly button ring in, but it's important to keep in mind that salt water and chlorine from pools can cause irritation and increase the risk of infection. It's best to remove the ring before swimming and to clean the area thoroughly after. If you choose to keep the ring in, make sure to dry the area thoroughly after swimming to reduce the risk of infection.

You should avoid swimming for at least 24 hours after having a piercing, and ideally until it has healed properly. While it's still healing, it's important to keep the piercing dry as there's a risk of infection.
