The laptop touchpad problems from my experience are mostly software-related. Rarely do you have a physical cause unless some fluid was spelt on it accidentally perhaps. When the problem is software related then one can try the following:
Touchpad problem arises either because of drivers and due to hardware of touchpad. first run the troubleshoot for touchpad if the problem remains update your drivers if the problem still exist then you need to check your laptop by a hardware specialist near you or you can do it yourself but recommendation is as laptop is a quite complex device let the hardware specialist do it.
To enable the touchpad, press Search key + Shift + P keyboard shortcut. If pressing the keyboard shortcut does not enable the touchpad, the advanced keyboard shortcuts are likely disabled
