Yes it does contain preservatives which help to prolong it's shelf life. Unfortunately, too much use of it in foods can expose people's health to a risk of certain non communicable diseases

Ready to eat food need to have preservatives in order to prolong its shelf life. Some preservatives does not really harm our health but there are common preservatives like nitrites or nitrates which are used in processed meat products that is bad for the health. Consuming these preservatives may increase the risk in getting colon cancer. So it should be limited in our diet.

Ready to eat foods can contain preservatives, but not all of them are necessarily harmful. Some preservatives, such as antioxidants, can help to extend the shelf life of food and prevent spoilage. Other preservatives, such as sodium nitrates, can be potentially harmful if consumed in large amounts. It is important to check the label of any ready-to-eat food to determine if it contains any potentially harmful preservatives.

Not all ready-to-eat foods contain harmful preservatives, but some do. Preservatives are used in food processing to extend the shelf life of products and prevent spoilage. While some preservatives are safe and approved by regulatory agencies, others may have potential health risks if consumed in large amounts or over an extended period of time.

To ensure that you are consuming safe and healthy ready-to-eat foods, it's important to read the labels and check the ingredient list. Look for brands that use natural preservatives, such as vinegar or citrus extracts, rather than synthetic preservatives like BHA or BHT. Additionally, choosing fresh, whole foods and cooking meals from scratch can help to reduce your exposure to preservatives and other additives.
