Cleaning grout before sealing is an important step to ensure that the sealant properly adheres to the surface and provides maximum protection against stains and moisture. Here are some steps to follow when cleaning grout before sealing:

Gather the necessary materials: You will need a stiff-bristled brush, a grout cleaner or a mixture of baking soda and vinegar, a bucket of water, and a clean rag.

Apply the cleaner: Apply the grout cleaner to the grout lines and allow it to sit for the recommended time. If you are using a baking soda and vinegar mixture, apply the paste to the grout and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

Scrub the grout: Using a stiff-bristled brush, scrub the grout lines in a back and forth motion. Be sure to apply enough pressure to remove any dirt or grime that has accumulated.

Rinse the grout: After scrubbing the grout lines, use a clean rag or a mop to rinse the grout with clean water. Make sure to remove all traces of the cleaner or baking soda mixture.

Let the grout dry: Allow the grout to dry completely before applying the sealant. This can take anywhere from a few hours to a full day, depending on the humidity and temperature of the room.

Apply the sealant: Once the grout is completely dry, apply the sealant according to the manufacturer's instructions. Be sure to apply the sealant evenly and allow it to dry completely before using the area.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your grout is thoroughly cleaned before sealing, which will help the sealant adhere properly and provide maximum protection

Before sealing grout, it is important to make sure that it is clean. The best way to clean grout is to use a grout cleaner, such as a grout brush or a grout cleaning solution. Make sure to scrub the grout with the brush or solution, and then rinse it with warm water. Once the grout is clean, you can then apply the sealant to protect it from dirt and stains.

It's important to thoroughly clean the grout before you seal it so you don't lock the yuck in! Mix dish soap and hot water and apply to the grout with a toothbrush. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Brush the grout with a toothbrush and use a sponge and clean water to remove all of the soap mixtures.
