An air conditioning unit is designed to remove moisture from the air while cooling it down. Unfortunately, that means your skin could lose moisture, too, and that includes a dry scalp and dandruff.

Air conditioning can dry out the scalp, which may contribute to dandruff. However, using a humidifier and keeping the scalp clean can help prevent this. But in general, its not considered a threat for your hair to produce dandruff!

No, Air Conditioner does not increase dandruff. It may even help decrease the amount of dandruff. The dry air created by air conditioners can make your scalp less oily, thus helping reduce dandruff. In addition, keeping a clean environment in your home, regularly washing your hair and scalp, and avoiding excessive heat can also help reduce the amount of dandruff.
