image Yes... killing birds is a crime...A court in western Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Council has set a precedent by wielding a hitherto unused law related to wildlife crime to hand out the maximum punishment to five poachers for killing birds and lesser animals such as mongoose.

Additional sessions judge at Bijni, N.U. Ahmed, referred to the 2009 Assam Amendment of the Wildlife (Protection) Act of 1972 to pronounce his judgments. It warrants at least seven years in prison, extendable to 10 years, and a minimum fine of ₹ 50,000.

The five persons, Jay Ram Ray, Shibu Ram Ray and Rohen Boro, and Somnath Kisku and Dhojen Tudu, were sentenced for poaching deer, mongoose, hare and birds inside the Manas National Park.

The last of this series of judgments against Somnath Kisku and Dhojen Tudu was delivered on June 17.

In the case of Shibu Ram Ray and Rohen Boro, the judge, while declining to let them off under the Probation of Offender section of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, said poaching had made some species extinct and called for protecting wild animals.

Forester Manik Brahma, who registered one of the three cases, expressed the hope that offenders would get the message of the power of wildlife laws.

This is an offence.According to law, a wrong becomes a crime if only there is a regulation banning practice of that act. That said, the act will depend on the rule of land in the country in question.

No doubt it's a crime because everyone has a life. As there is no punishment for killing the bird in our system but in the god system, you must be punished for that crime.

It will be a crime if you are living in the USA and hunting some birds. As far as I can remember, you need to have a license before hunting birds.

License is required for hunting game birds (geese, ducks, turkey, etc.). Regular birds can be killed with impunity in most if not all states. Slingshots, BB guns, pellet guns, etc., keep the bird population down, and is a favorite childhood memory for many.

It's within the law to take care of the wild animals in whatever circumstances unless they become dangerous to us. Killing of birds is also prohibited and they are also protected by law

Killing the birds is a crime in many countries and one can face the real wrath of the low by doing so. Every organism in the world however small it might be has its contribution to the running of a smooth ecosystem. Killing them and destroying their habitat is wrong.

Killing birds is indeed a crime. Many people don't realize this but taking a life is not to be taken lightly and can lead to serious consequences. Laws protecting birds, like all animals, have been put into place in order to maintain the balance of nature and uphold respect for the creatures of our planet. To willfully and unnecessarily take the life of a living being is considered wrong and unlawful. All forms of killing birds, including hunting, trapping, poisoning, and powerline strikes are punishable offenses in most jurisdictions. Taking a life is an irreversible action, so let us choose compassion and understanding towards birds instead of destruction.

Killing birds without proper legal authorization or outside of specific circumstances can be considered a crime in many jurisdictions. Some common examples of protected birds include endangered or threatened species, migratory birds, or birds listed under specific conservation agreements.
