It is very easy to make home made food for dogs. All you have to have is the right ingredients and some time. Make sure you buy nutritional things that are not processed for your animals, first thing. I usually use carrots, grains such as brown rice, potatoes, chicken (cooked only with water and a tiny bit of salt), yuca, beets, fruits such as mangoes, apples, pears...dogs love these! You can be creative and then cook different dishes every couple of days. Make sure you serve the food warm as well so you do not hurt your animal's throat serving cold food...it is not good for them at all to eat cold stuff. Also make sure you cut fruits and other foods in smaller pieces especially if your pet is small or mini. Avoid giving them bones and anything like fish as they can also get hurt.

Here  are some tips to note;

There is a saying that i like to use train a child in the way you would like them to be and they will never depart from it. I guess it can also work for the pets that we may have in our homes. If you teach your dogs that they will always have food that has been bought and prepared for them, you will have a huge problem if one day you won't have the money to buy the food. So it's better to teach them to adopt to other foods other than the bought food. I used to see my brother mix up all the left over food and warm it up and give it to the dogs. Once in a while you buy them milk and give. Other times he would go to thr butcheries and buy bones that are mixed up with fats and skins from the chickens that have been slaughtered and that is a delicacy for them. They would feed like nothing. Anything can be wipped up for them and they will eat. I don't mean just anything, i mean the food that we eat.

I am not sure if your dog will like eating staple rice with some meat in it. We usually give our dogs such as human food. However, you cannot give them chicken bones. It will damage their digestive system and die if not being attended to.

1. Start with lean proteins: Lean proteins are the cornerstone of any healthy dog food diet. Choose lean meats like chicken, turkey, fish, or lean cuts of beef, and add an egg or two.

2. Add healthy carbohydrates: Dogs need carbohydrates for energy, so add complex carbohydrates like brown rice, oats, barley, quinoa, sweet potatoes, and squash.

3. Add healthy fats: Healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, and flaxseed oil provide essential fatty acids and energy for your pup.

4. Add vegetables: Dogs need vegetables for a balanced diet, so add cooked vegetables like carrots, peas, broccoli, kale, spinach, and green beans.

5. Add supplements: If your dog isn’t getting enough of certain vitamins and minerals from their food, consider adding supplements like fish oil, probiotics, and multivitamins.

6. Cook and serve: Cook all ingredients together in a pot or slow cooker and serve. If you have leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze them for future use.

Homemade dog food should be nutritionally balanced, including protein, vegetables, and grains. Consult with a veterinarian for recommended portions and ingredients. Common protein sources include chicken, beef, and fish. Vegetables like carrots, sweet potatoes, and green beans can be added for fiber and vitamins. Grains like brown rice or quinoa can provide carbohydrates. Avoid ingredients that are toxic to dogs, like chocolate, onions, and garlic. It's important to monitor your dog's weight and overall health when feeding homemade food.

The best way to make homemade dog food will vary depending on the dog's specific needs and preferences. However, some tips on how to make the best homemade dog food include:

  1. choices your dog makes , do you want a dog that takes to fresh food easily, or one that requires more time to eat? - is your dog an agility dog or a field type?
  2. type of water , unhackable water or water that can be heated up and then prepared as food - it needs to be a specific type of water, such as brine or salt water
  3. type of food , four different types of food can be good for different types of dogs - try to find foods that are captives to all four characters of the food, such as field, hay, grain or meat feed.

Making homemade dog food can be a great way to ensure that your furry friend is getting a nutritious and balanced diet. However, it's important to note that homemade dog food requires careful planning and consideration to meet all of your dog's nutritional needs. Here's a general guideline on how to make the best homemade dog food:

Consult with a veterinarian: Before making any changes to your dog's diet, it's essential to consult with a veterinarian or a veterinary nutritionist. They can provide specific recommendations based on your dog's breed, age, size, and any specific dietary requirements or health concerns.

Understand your dog's nutritional needs: Dogs require a balance of protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals to stay healthy. Research the nutritional requirements for your dog's life stage (puppy, adult, senior) and size to ensure you are meeting their specific needs.

Choose high-quality ingredients: Use fresh, whole foods and select ingredients that provide the necessary nutrients. Good protein sources include lean meats (chicken, turkey, beef), fish, and eggs. Carbohydrates can come from sources like sweet potatoes, brown rice, or quinoa. Include a variety of vegetables like carrots, peas, spinach, and fruits like blueberries or apples for added vitamins and minerals.

Balance the proportions: The ratio of protein, carbohydrates, and fats can vary based on your dog's needs. As a general guideline, aim for a diet that consists of about 50% protein, 25% vegetables and fruits, and 25% grains or carbohydrates. Adjust the proportions as necessary based on your dog's individual requirements.

Cook the food: Cook the ingredients thoroughly to ensure they are safe for consumption. Avoid seasoning the food with salt, spices, or additives that can be harmful to dogs. It's best to avoid using ingredients that are toxic to dogs, such as onions, garlic, chocolate, grapes, and raisins.

Add necessary supplements: Even with a well-planned homemade diet, it may be necessary to add certain supplements to ensure your dog is getting all the essential nutrients. This is especially important for homemade diets to prevent any nutrient deficiencies. Your veterinarian can recommend appropriate supplements such as calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, or a multivitamin.
