That's a long time ago that it was started in 1620. I find it weird but we need to respect the culture of celebrating it.

In a heart-halting showcase, children brought into the world during the earlier year are laid on beddings in the road while the costumed men jump over them. A sanctification of sorts, it is accepted that Satan retains the wrongdoings of the infants, and manages the cost of them security from sickness and disaster.

The Baby Jumping Festival, also known as El Colacho, is a traditional Spanish festival that takes place in the village of Castrillo de Murcia, located in the province of Burgos. The festival is celebrated annually on the Sunday after Corpus Christi, which is usually in June.

During the festival, a group of men dressed in colorful costumes and wearing masks, known as the Colacho, jump over babies born in the past year who lie on mattresses in the streets. The babies are said to be cleansed of original sin by the act of jumping, and the festival is considered a symbol of good luck and protection for the infants.

The origins of the festival are unclear, but it is thought to date back to the 17th century and may have originated from a mixture of Christian and pagan traditions. The festival has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest in Spain, and it attracts visitors from around the world who come to witness this unique cultural event.
