When was the first birthday cake you made?

I have just completed the cooking course and this is my first time to bake a birthday cake. Anyone here please share their experience like when the first birthday cake made and what secret things are required to glam up the cake.

Similar to yours I have done the cooking course and made my first cake this year in January as my daughter birthday was there. I baked unicorn cake and made the unicorn horn with edible paste and Magic Sparkles edible gold glitter that glam up the cake decoration.

 I made my first cake , when I was learning  at 10th std. I earned it from my cousin sister. She and her mother was experts in it and they are also taking cake baking class too.

I created my first birthday cake when I was in the fourth grade. My mom had been teaching me how to bake and I decided to make a cake for a friend's birthday. I decided to go with a classic yellow cake with chocolate frosting and plenty of rainbow sprinkles. I used a simple recipe I found online and with the help of my mom it ended up being delicious. Everyone loved it and I felt really proud that I had created such a special cake for my friend's birthday.

The first birthday cake I ever made was almost 15 years ago. It was almost my sons b-day and I just could not find a Thomas the Train cake. So I decided to make one myself. I read a lot on the internet on a bakingsite. I must say the first one was a failure, but I still had time so I tried again. I decorated it with marzipan to make a Thomas on the top. It turned out great in the end. After making this one, I was hooked. So I started to make more, and I got the hang of it. Now it is normal that when one of my kids or someone in my family needs a cake, they come to me :-)
