There are native people in New Zealand called Maori. They usually stick their tongues out and make loud incomprehensible sounds to scare away strangers who might visit their village. They only do this at first before becoming friends with them.

Sticking out one's tongue is generally seen as a sign of disrespect and rudeness. It is not considered appropriate to stick out your tongue to strangers, as it can be seen as hostile or confrontational. In some cultures, however, sticking out one's tongue is a sign of playfulness or good luck.
