I have always had dogs or cats. I love having them and they adore me. Some people say that having a pet is good for your well being and can lower stress, Some pets are even allowed into hospitals if their owner is ill because it makes them feel calmer and less unhappy about being away from home.

Definitely. When I was a kid, my father brought home a duck, just one duck. I was very fond of it, and it instantly became my first pet. I remember being so excited to come home just to see her. I even wash her feathers and make sure she eats properly. My memories of having to watch her lay eggs are still quite clear, and right now I am smiling at the very thought of it. Who would have thought that a 7 year-old kid would have a duck as pet. Those were really fun times.

Just recently, a friend gave me a puppy. My mother is mostly the one who takes care of him, as I am often far from home due to my work schedules. There are times when I feel really stressed but looking at his pictures takes all the bad vibes away. Whenever I come home, I always look forward into surprising him because seeing him wag his tail and be all jumpy and hyper bring joy into our hearts. I think more than their cuteness, the companionship and interaction that they bring indeed contribute to our wellbeing.

I have had pets since childhood and it has been for my good and for my well-being.pets are very good companions and help to keep us away from being lonely and depressed. They are fun to be with which helps those with high BP to have a relief with their playful nature.

My pets are very observant and know when I'm stressed and try to cheer me up. They hate to see me sad so they jump around a lot and seek for my attention and before you know it I'm   playing with them too. They can really help to brighten one's day.

Pets can really help to prolong ones life, having them around, feeding and taking a walk with them can add to ones life span.

For me it is. Owning a pet, despite the struggle makes me a person with purpose and with happiness everyday. Owning a pet means you are ready to love more than you love your family and friends. It it hard, never easy but it promises true joy and happiness if you found the right pets. I have 5 dogs, 4 puppies and more than 10 cats at home. I am their adoptive mother. I spend time with time with them, give a big effort in taking care of them. I buy the things that they needed. I give comfort and shelter. They make me happy by being loyal and appreciative. Some of the good things , I found it on them that I failed to see on people around me. I love their loyalty and it could not be rewarded in any amount. For me it is God's gift and my life's purpose to be a pet lover.

Oh yes! Having pet is good for the overall being of the owner. Pet basically serve as a companion to the owner. It providse some sort of emotional support to who owns it. It also a great alternative to those who are prone to loneliness. By the time you have your pet around you you will not feel as if you are lonely and isolated from the world. Pets can also be great motivators to the owners to take up active lifestyle. If you are the type of person who is having weight issue perhaps due to sedendary lifestyle you've been living over the years, it is prudent in that case for you to get yourself a pet like dog that will serve as a source of motivation for you to go for a long brisk walking exercise every now and then. If you are the committed type over time you will start seeing result in weight loss. You can see that the usefulness of pets to human well being cannot be overemphasized.

Dogs and cats are the great companions for us, especially the individuals living alone. I have two cats and a dog, they have accompanied me for three years. I regard them as my family members, because I feel comfortable and relaxed once I come back home every night. My hypertension also gets relief since I have had these cuties. On the weekend, I read the book in the yard with my dog and pet the cats when I get tired. This is an ideal situation I pursued in my childhood. And I had airsickness, but it gradually disappears after my dog accompanies me in the cabin. I certificated him as an ESA dog, which is very convenient to go to travel with him. He is a Yorkie, suited to sit on my lap during the flight.

Yes, there are a lot of studies (and even more anecdotal stories, of course) confirming the benefits of pets for your mental health. What's surprising is that even people suffering from serious cases of depression, schizophrenia, and other conditions can find solace in their furry (even non-furry, such as goldfish!) friends. Besides providing unconditional love and support you may not get from other people, or at least not feel like you're getting, pets help you keep connected to the world in some way or another. It's much harder to stay in bed all day when your dog keeps pestering you to play, for example. They also encourage you to go out, engage in some physical activity, and interact with other people.

For some having pet is a good thing but it not necessarily the case to affect how well being you are. I believe that having a pet or two is just one of the mediums out there that is available to release our stress in our daily life, many are relying upon their pets whenever they get sad and or even if they are tired from work because pets really do entertain people, to the point that for others having them it necessary for them to be in a good condition. Many are really have these strong feelings and already built a strong bond with their pets that makes them more reliant on their pets. In my case, it is fine with me to not have a pet because I already have some activities that are more suited for me to make myself feel better and healthier.

It's true pets have a calming effect on someone they can actually reduce stress from people. I am one of them. For a long time i have been having a cat as my pet, and to speak the truth it has been my best companion for the longest time. Sometimes when i was alone it would come and sit at my feet, and when i felt lonely or stressed about something i would stroke it while i sing then play with it and at the end of it all i feel so much better. It's sad that it passed away now i have no pet but i will definitely look for one maybe a dog this time round. As for the hospital part am not sure about that because many hospitals don't allow animals of any sort in the wards. Maybe in some places but am yet to find one that allows.

Since I am still single, I prefer to have my own pet. In the family, I am a dog lover. I tried to have a cat and lost it early this year. I can handle them both. At present, I have two dogs and they make my life complete. One of them is quite old now. If she dies, I am planning to have a chihuahua.

Yes, owning a pet can be good for your well-being in many ways. Here are some of the ways owning a pet can benefit your physical and mental health:

Reducing stress and anxiety: Spending time with pets can lower your levels of the stress hormone cortisol and increase the release of the feel-good hormone oxytocin, which can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

Providing companionship: Pets can be great companions, providing comfort and a sense of connection to their owners, especially for those who live alone.

Encouraging exercise: Pets, particularly dogs, can encourage their owners to be more physically active by requiring regular walks and playtime.

Improving heart health: Studies have shown that pet owners have lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, which can reduce the risk of heart disease.

Boosting mood and emotional well-being: The presence of a pet can lift your mood and provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment, particularly for those struggling with depression or loneliness.

However, it's important to note that owning a pet also comes with responsibilities and costs, such as providing proper care, food, and veterinary expenses. Therefore, it's essential to consider all aspects before deciding to adopt a pet
