Yes, we should teach them that we spend a lot of effort to earn money and it is not easy, we should teach them to buy what they need but to put priorities first , what they need first and what is more important and how to save money to buy what they delay for next time.

You can encourage them to have a special jar that she or he can save his or her money. I used to have it when I was a young kid before. Then, you can condition him or her to what goals to be done with the money if being full of coins or paper money.

Parents should not control but teach their children the habit of setting goals and saving, if this is properly done, the children spends wisely and have a target for any money they get.

To manage this task succefully make sure you start when they are still very young. Teach them to be responsible by giving them tasks at home that they should so, reward then after they complete the tasks with fake money that they can use to purchase candy's at home. Teach them that they can  only get the candys when they purchase and never cave, children can be great manupulaters. They will learn to use what they love wisely which will transfer to anything they may get in future.

Yes, at an early age children should be thought on how to manage their money. So that at a young age they will know the value of money. Some children at the age of three are starting to ask something from their elders like buying things that they like or want to do if they saw something that they want. Children don't understand how their parents are budgeting their money for the family.

My mom gave me a set allowance weekly when I was still studying. She never gave me any extras, so I learned to spend only what I can afford.

Give them a piggy bank or money box for their own cash. Talk about why it's important to keep money safe. Introduce the idea of saving for something they really want. Together, regularly count the money they've saved.
