It depends on the operation system you use. In example, Microsoft Windows has built-in antivirus software. It is called Windows Defender. If you use mostly "serious" websites, it is Ok with this software. Otherwise I think you have to by license for something.

I also had different tries, but i suggest you to buy a antivirus for at least 3 years of initial system brought period. Norton, avasta, kaspersky are few I have tired and found somewhat useful.

It all depends on what operating system you are running.  Windows 10 comes with its own antivirus which seems to have a fairly good reputation...so do your research to decide if you need additional antivirus protection before using additional A/V software.

For Linux, the main freely available A/V software is called ClamTK, which also has a good reputation but is known to produce false-positives (mainly Windows viruses present on Linux filesystems).

I would research what is out there and then make a choice based on your needs.

I tried the 360 Total Security so far it has been good it will fully scan, speed up and clean up your computer but if you want the upgraded version. If there is any virus it will pop up on your screen.

There are many free anti-virus software options available, and the "best" one depends on your specific needs and preferences. However, some of the most popular and effective free anti-virus software options are:

Avast Free Antivirus

AVG AntiVirus Free

Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition

Kaspersky Security Cloud Free

Microsoft Defender Antivirus (built into Windows 10)

Sophos Home Free Antivirus

Each of these options has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it's a good idea to do some research and read reviews to determine which one is the best fit for your needs. It's also important to keep your anti-virus software up to date and to practice safe browsing habits to avoid malware and other online threats

It's important to note that while free anti-virus software can provide basic protection, they may not offer the same level of advanced features and protection as paid anti-virus software. It's also important to keep your anti-virus software up-to-date to ensure that it can effectively protect against the latest threats. The Windows Defender is good enough in my opinion.

There are many free anti-virus software programs available, and it can be difficult to determine which one is best. Generally speaking, Avast, AVG, and Avira are all popular options that offer good protection against viruses and malware. Additionally, Windows Defender is a free anti-virus program that is included with Windows 10, and provides basic protection against viruses and malware. Ultimately, the best free anti-virus software for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences.
