I am a citizen of UK and I plan to purchase agricultural land in India. In order to buy farm land in India I need permission from Reserve Bank of India. Can you help to obtain permission from RBI? Thank you.

Yes, NRIs are allowed to buy agricultural land in India. However, they need prior approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The process of obtaining such approval includes submitting a detailed application form to the RBI along with the necessary documents and proof of funds. A copy of the application must also be submitted to the local registrar or sub-registrar for approval. You can find detailed information about the procedure for obtaining approval from RBI on their website.

According to ‘FEMA’ Foreign Exchange Management Act”, NRIs cannot buy agricultural land in India. There is no restriction on NRIs for buying residential or commercial property in India but there is no provision where they can buy agricultural land in India.

Non Resident Indian can not buy farm lands in India. But they can purchase residential or commercial lands on their wish. Land brokers help you to get some details about it.

Yes, it is possible for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to buy agricultural land in India. However, in order to do so, NRIs must obtain permission from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The RBI has released detailed guidelines for the purchase of agricultural land by NRIs, which can be found on its website at https://rbi.org.in/scripts/FAQView.aspx?Id=41.

Additionally, you must ensure that you comply with the local laws and regulations in the Indian state where you intend to purchase the agricultural land, as there may be additional requirements that you need to fulfil.

Absolutely, you can purchase agricultural land in India without permission from the Reserve Bank of India. To buy land, you will need to contact the bank that you will be purchasing the land from and ask to be transferred to the appropriate department. You will then be able to apply for the land using the form that was sent to the bank. The process of applying for agricultural land in India is very simple. You will need to complete the application form, file a protest, and then file a report with the police. After the police have looked at the land, they will then make a decision about whether or not to allow you to purchase the land.
