The luckiest number in China are 7 and 8. If you see Albatross, the bird, everywhere, even a mark or picture of it, once you suddenly see it, it is a form of good luck. Chinese buy Maneki-neko, the cat which left hand is raised and moving upward downward, because it brings goodluck to business and even to family life. A rabbit's foot is a lucky charm but it is not lucky for the Rabbit though. I don't know when the tradition originated too. A pig is a lucky animal and the jade is the lucky stone. On the unlucky sides, 4 is unlucky in China because the sound it gives sounds similar to death. When you see a black cat walking it is a bad luck for Chinese. Walking under the ladder is considered a ba luck as well. Those are only I can remember because I am fond of watching Chinese Movies before.

There are a lot of things to choose from when it comes to luck. Some people might choose to believe that good luck comes from sleeping with the right woman, or that being kind to others will bring good luck. Others might take the number 7 (seven times seven is seven) as a sign that they have 7/7 luck. And still others might use a specific number (7/7) in their own luck promotion. Some people might think that being healthy and getting along with others is also important in luck promotions. All of these are just a few examples of what can be done to think about luck in specific China communities.
