The luckiest number in China are 7 and 8. If you see Albatross, the bird, everywhere, even a mark or picture of it, once you suddenly see it, it is a form of good luck. Chinese buy Maneki-neko, the cat which left hand is raised and moving upward downward, because it brings goodluck to business and even to family life. A rabbit's foot is a lucky charm but it is not lucky for the Rabbit though. I don't know when the tradition originated too. A pig is a lucky animal and the jade is the lucky stone. On the unlucky sides, 4 is unlucky in China because the sound it gives sounds similar to death. When you see a black cat walking it is a bad luck for Chinese. Walking under the ladder is considered a ba luck as well. Those are only I can remember because I am fond of watching Chinese Movies before.
