As Christians, we have perceived and experienced God's goodness, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives, and acted on the Bible’s message regarding salvation. Christ’s payment has purchased eternal life for each of us and has saved us from the impending time of wrath.
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. I Thessalonians 1:10
Along with this knowledge and surety comes the responsibility of recognizing it as a true reality and adapting our living accordingly.
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6-7
In becoming “rooted” in God’s Word, we are not shaken by the doubts of people around us but are examples of believers with the Word living in us. We have become a new person in Christ, and those around us can now believe and live the same way. In genuinely transforming our lives, we may find that we are gaining new friends and are in greater harmony with God’s purposes.
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. I Timothy 2:4
We are now involved in bringing the knowledge of God’s Word to our fellow man and in seeing God’s desires come to pass in miraculous ways.
