There is no age of getting retired from work like that. I think when your children are able to do works and take a great care of you then at that time you should retire from your work. You do work in order to live and complete the basic necessities of life. When your children will be able to do jobs then you would not have any problem for living. Remember that always check whether your children take great care of you or not.
You have little life experiences. You are mocking your parents. Dependency is a great burden and freedom loss. If we work hard and save money for future then why should we need to beg money from kids. I know people who work and get monthly salary and who also have other sources of income from house rent, property etc. So this person didnt need to depend or ask his son for hus needs. So we have to work at young age and save for heart treatment etc didnt became a burden for kids and others for such treatment.

According to you if you're spending money on your kids and they are dependent on you then that means that every time they ask you for money they're begging you? You did a lot to your kids and now it's time for you to have rest. What about those people who don't have money and they just can afford their meals?
