The longest lifespan among animals is typically associated with certain species of tortoises and some whales. One notable example is the **Galápagos tortoise**. These giant tortoises, native to the Galápagos Islands, have been known to live well over 100 years, with some individuals reaching ages of 150 years or more.

In the ocean, the **Bowhead whale** is known for its exceptional lifespan. Some individuals have been estimated to live over 200 years. These estimates are based on studies of earplugs and eye tissue, which contain layers that scientists can analyze to determine age.

It's important to note that determining the exact lifespan of certain species can be challenging, and these estimates are based on observations and studies rather than precise measurements.
