IOS

It is Apple’s mobile operating system used to run the popular iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. Formerly known as the iPhone OS, the name was changed with the introduction of the iPad. It interprets the commands of software applications (“apps”) and it gives those apps access to features of the device, such as the multi-touch screen or the storage. It is the interface between the operating person and the device. Mobile operating systems like IOS different from most other operating systems because IOS put each application in its own protective layer

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open source software and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Android is the world's most popular mobile operating system and is used by millions of people around the globe. It provides users with access to a wide range of features, including a wide variety of apps, on-device storage, and a wide array of connectivity options. Android also provides users with the ability to customize their devices according to their preferences. Unlike IOS, Android is open source, meaning that manufacturers can customize it to suit their needs.

Hi! I have solid experience with both systems and personally here are my points:

Apple

Cons:

the battery life is subpar / you cannot "personalize" your system with themes / the updates only make the phone's memory full and slow the phone down / it seems like the product really has a shorter "lifespan" / the quality of the charger is subpar, wire always breaks no matter how careful you care for it / the wire is so cheap and made of a material that gets dirty real fast/devices are very expensive and every single new phone looks the same, just the name changes / takes forever to charge and gets hot really fast / camera is subpar when compared to other phones / you can not share things with people that have android phones / you need to download iTunes and take forever to simply transfer files from PC to the phone

Pros:

good marketing strategies / clean design / constant updates

Android

Cons:

Versions change too fast and you will have to update your phone all the time / the apps on android store get updates all the time, which might be annoying as well

Pros:

the opposite of everything I put on the Cons of Apple phones + better phone options / more brands that use the system / perfect for those who want to work on the phone

iOS is apples platform for the mobile and Android is google platform for the mobile. Both has the apps and the games that you can use for the application hosting. You can also make use of it for the development depending on the platform. And also iOS devices are expensive and android devices are less expensive.

Android:

  • Android has a very high development complexity so it normally take around 30 to 40% more time to develop an application on Android.
  • Android cost more due to higher testing period.
  • The programming language mainly require Java & Kotlin which is very easy to learn and understand.
  • Android is not very secured when it is compared to IOS
  • Android has a faster mean download.

IOS:

  • The development Complexity is not higher.
  • it does not require more testing so the cost going to be investing on the development purpose is going to less for this reason IOS Devices are costly than Android.
  • Need to have basic knowledge of objective-c or swift for native development
  • IOS is highly secured
  • IOS Speed it is much faster than Android

IOS is closed system whereas android is a open system.Android software is available for many manufacturers such as Samsung, LG etc. and this may lead to some quality problems in the cheaper phones. However, iOS is strictly controlled by Apple and there is no quality problem as there are few models.

Let me create an analogy for this. you have two types of memory in a device. One is Primary memory and other is secondary memory. Primary memory is the one which is directly connected to the processor and other one secondary memory is not connected to the Processor. But for a file to be accessed by the processor file should be in the primary memory. for files in the secondary memory it has to be compressed and made simple and should be brought to primary memory and it can be accessed by the Processor. So all the Management and Processing of this process is carried out by OS(Operating system). Also, all the software functions, processor work is also managed by OS. Here it is like a manager in a Software office

There are different types of Operating systems. When it comes to PCs Examples can be: Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, Linux. when it comes to Smart phones(Also called as SOC- System on a chip) there are popularly Two Types of OS: 1)Android 2)IOS. (Again, Every OS function is Same. they need to make files in secondary memory accessible by processor.  and, Manage the works.)

so when you ask about differences between IOS and Android or any other OS, The only difference is Their process of carrying out their works(of management) and Obviously, They are Manufactured by Different companies. like Android is by Google and IOS is by Apple Inc.

Hope it helps,

Thank you :)

Android

Android is Google’s mobile operating system used to run a variety of devices, from phones to tablets to wearables. It is based on the Linux operating system and is written primarily in Java, with core libraries in C and C++. Android is open source, meaning developers can modify and customize the OS for each phone. It has a large user base, with over two billion active monthly users. Unlike IOS, it allows for multiple applications to run at the same time, and also supports widgets, which are small applications that can be added to the home screen.

Differences between the two include:

Design: iOS has a more uniform design language, while Android has a more customizable interface.

App Store: iOS has a more tightly controlled app store with a more rigorous review process, while Android has a more open app store with a less stringent review process.

Cost: iOS devices tend to be more expensive than comparable Android devices.

Fragmentation: Android has a more fragmented user base with a wider range of device specifications, while iOS has a more consistent user base with fewer device variations.

Features: Both operating systems offer a wide range of features and capabilities, but there may be specific features that are exclusive to one or the other.

The difference between IOS and Android is that IOS is used to run the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices, while Android is used by many companies and is free to use. IOS was founded by two entrepreneurs, “Titanium” and “Boom”. Android is used by many Electronic Arts, Google, and other companies. It has become the most popular mobile operating system in the world.
