Hair dye can have several side effects, and they may vary depending on the individual's hair type, the type of dye used, and the length of time the dye is left on the hair. Some common side effects of hair dye include: Skin irritation: Hair dye can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. Symptoms may include redness, itching, and swelling. Hair damage: Hair dye can damage the hair shaft, causing it to become dry, brittle, and prone to breakage. Hair loss: Prolonged use of hair dye may lead to hair loss. This can occur due to the damage to the hair follicles and scalp. Eye irritation: Hair dye can cause eye irritation and even damage to the eyes if it comes into contact with them. Chemical burns: Hair dye contains chemicals that can cause burns if they come into contact with the scalp or skin. Increased risk of cancer: Some studies have suggested that prolonged use of hair dye may increase the risk of certain types of cancer, such as bladder cancer and breast cancer. To minimize the side effects of hair dye, it is important to follow the instructions carefully, use a reputable brand, and avoid using hair dye too frequently. It is also a good idea to perform a patch test before using hair dye to ensure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. If you experience any adverse effects, such as severe itching, burning, or swelling, seek medical attention immediately.

Hair dye is a popular cosmetic product used to change the color of one's hair. While hair dye can be an effective way to achieve a new look, there are several potential side effects that users should be aware of:

Allergic reactions: Some people may experience an allergic reaction to the chemicals found in hair dye. Symptoms can range from mild itching and redness to more severe reactions like hives and anaphylaxis.

Skin irritation: Hair dye can cause skin irritation, particularly on the scalp, neck, and face. This can result in redness, itching, and flaking.

Hair damage: Hair dye can cause damage to the hair, particularly if it is overused or used incorrectly. This can lead to dryness, breakage, and split ends.

Eye irritation: Hair dye can cause irritation to the eyes if it comes into contact with them. This can result in redness, itching, and tearing.

Chemical burns: Hair dye can cause chemical burns if it is left on the scalp for too long or if it is used incorrectly. This can cause severe pain and even permanent scarring.

Increased sensitivity to the sun: Some hair dyes can make the hair more sensitive to the sun, increasing the risk of sunburn and other damage.

Respiratory problems: Some people may experience respiratory problems if they inhale the fumes from hair dye. This can cause coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath.

It is important to follow the instructions provided with the hair dye and to perform a patch test before using it on the entire head. If any adverse reactions occur, the hair dye should be immediately rinsed off and medical attention sought if necessary

I once read that hair dye products contain chemical compounds that kills hair follicles, and when this happens, rather than have less white hair, the amount of white hair will increase so that you constantly depend on the hair dye products.

Hair dyeing has several side effects that people should be aware of before coloring their hair [1]. Hair dyes and colours can be damaging to hair, even if they are ammonia-free or peroxide-free, and can cause hair loss and brittleness [2]. Dyeing your hair with certain chemicals can be harmful to your health and may lead to allergic reactions, skin diseases, respiratory complications, and even cancer [3]. Rashes and skin diseases are a common side effect of chemical hair dyes, as the chemicals may seep into the skin and lead to rashes. There is also the risk of overprocessing hair and the possibility of conjunctivitis [1]. The addiction to dyeing hair can also cause further hair damage [2]. It is important to exercise caution while dyeing hair and consider natural alternatives.
