Why is everyone so obsessed with the US?

3.  Technology and innovation: The US is home to many of the world's leading tech companies, and has a history of innovation and scientific research that has driven advances in many fields.

People seem to be obsessed with the United States simply because both history and cinema have romanticized our country making it seem like it is the "Promised Land'. It is a form of marketing and has made the US somewhat of a corporation that the world consumes.
