Cotton fever suuucks.. It's caused by a kind of bacteria in the cotton, it usually only happens if you leave a wet cotton sit for awhile and then rinse it days later.. I've had it probably 50 times. Take a fever reducer and the symptoms will go away. I think it's a kind of sepsis because you have bacteria in your blood. Not sure of all the science.

/Edit: in fact after every cotton rinse I do I automatically take a pain reliever/fever reducer right after to prevent getting it. Ibuprofen will do. Always be sterile, use alcohol prep pads on your fingers, tip of the rug and arm before and after every shot. And remember you can always do more but you can never do less after its in your arm. Be a smart drug user.

It's important to note that fever is usually a symptom of an underlying illness or infection, and treating the underlying cause is the most effective way to get rid of a fever. However, there are some steps you can take to help reduce your body temperature and alleviate discomfort:

Take a fever-reducing medication: Over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil) can help reduce fever and relieve pain. Follow the recommended dosage instructions and do not exceed the maximum daily dose.

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and other fluids to prevent dehydration, which can worsen fever and other symptoms.

Rest: Get plenty of rest to help your body fight off the infection or illness causing the fever.

Keep cool: Take a cool shower, use a fan or air conditioning to cool down your body, and wear lightweight clothing.

Use a damp washcloth: Place a cool, damp washcloth on your forehead or other areas of your body to help lower your body temperature.

It's important to consult with a healthcare professional if your fever persists for more than a few days, or if you experience other symptoms such as severe headache, stiff neck, or difficulty breathing.

In my own case, each time I experience fever, I usually take a warm bath, get something to eat, and take a nab for the body to relax and return to its normal functions. If this is accompanied with headache you can take a pain reliever like paracetamol for the headache.

There is no instant cure for a fever. However, taking over-the-counter medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen and staying hydrated can help reduce fever. Rest is also important. If the fever persists or is accompanied by other symptoms, seek medical attention.

It is not recommended to try to get rid of a fever instantly, as this can be dangerous. The best way to reduce a fever is to rest, stay hydrated, and take over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Additionally, natural remedies such as drinking herbal teas, taking a lukewarm bath, or applying a cool compress to the forehead can help to bring down a fever.

When it comes to managing a fever naturally, there are a few simple remedies you can try:

Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of fluids is essential to prevent dehydration when you have a fever. Water, herbal teas, clear broths, and electrolyte-rich drinks like coconut water can help replenish fluids lost due to sweating and maintain hydration.

Rest: Resting is crucial to allow your body to heal and recover from a fever. Make sure to get plenty of sleep and avoid overexertion. Resting in a cool and comfortable environment can also help regulate your body temperature.

Lukewarm Sponge Bath: To help reduce body temperature and provide relief, you can take a lukewarm sponge bath. Dip a sponge or washcloth in lukewarm water and gently sponge your body, focusing on the armpits, groin, forehead, and neck. Avoid using cold water, as it can cause shivering and increase body temperature.

Herbal Remedies: Certain herbs and spices possess natural properties that can help alleviate fever symptoms. Some commonly used herbs include ginger, elderflower, peppermint, chamomile, and catnip. You can drink herbal teas made from these herbs to promote sweating and reduce fever.

Stay Cool: To manage a fever, it's important to keep your body cool. Dress in lightweight and breathable clothing, use a fan or air conditioning to circulate air, and keep the room temperature comfortable. You can also place a cool, damp washcloth on your forehead to provide relief.

Over-the-Counter Medications: If the fever is causing discomfort and interfering with your daily activities, you may consider taking over-the-counter fever reducers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. However, it's important to follow the recommended dosage and consult with a healthcare professional, especially for children or if you have underlying health conditions.

Remember, while these natural remedies can help manage fever symptoms, it's important to monitor your temperature and seek medical attention if the fever persists, worsens, or is accompanied by severe symptoms.
