There are some unwritten social rules which everyone should follows:
you wait for everyone to get off the elevator before you try to get on. it's really irritating when people do things in a not very effective manner. for example you are walking with beloved partner on sidewalk from the other direction the person break through in between.
if you work in childcare and see a baby walk for the first time you don't say anything to parent.
There is not seating arrangement in a collage class but no one should sit in my seat.
if you are watching facebook videos in the room and other people are trying to enjoy their house of peace that wears headphones. for example mom & kid travelling together on train, kid started watching video on ipad with full volume and mom just doesn't car.
when you enter the elevator, you face the door.
don't eat food or things want to use that isn't yours without asking the permission first.
you do not initiate small talks with someone with their headphones on.
you only hold the door open for someone if they are within a 2 meter radius.
The most basic of unwritten social rules are being courteous and helpful. Respecting people who you don’t know and never met shows who you are as a character. Help the elderly if you see them struggling. Be courteous to a pregnant woman or a person with a broken limb on public transportation by giving up your seat. These are just basic things people should be able to do without thinking about it.
There are many social rules like making sure you don't hurt people feeling when you first met them just because you want to impress your friends or people around you.
Some unwritten social rules everyone should follow include respecting personal space, using proper manners, being punctual, listening attentively, and being kind.
